Christmas 2009 in Nepal

On Christmas morning 2009, over 500 church members and visitors celebrated the birth of Jesus at the Tikapur church with games, food and a gospel message. Church members handed out Gideon Bibles and tracts to all visitors.

That same afternoon, an outreach was planned for college students. All students in the church were encouraged to invite three friends. They gathered over 200 students which was above and beyond what anyone had hoped for. After an opening prayer and the singing of the Nepali National Anthem, the music transitioned to worship songs. Many of those who were visiting joined in the worship enthusiastically, an amazing sight to see. A church leader shared his testimony and a guest speaker gave a message about the birth of Jesus. Some of the students had prepared a skit, and other performed a dance (above right) After the program, students stayed for a snack and all visitors were given a Gideon bible. Since the event, many of the students who visited that day, have continued to attend church.
We also celebrated the birth of Jesus in our schools. At Grace school (above) children gathered with their parents for a special Christmas service and each child received a small gift (see picture below of children at PremNagar school with their gift) Altogether we were able to share the gospel message with more than 350 children and their parents . Many hearts were touched and many people were blessed.
The Tikapur church has a heart to serve their community through planting schools and providing high quality, Christian educational opportunities to the poor who live in rural areas. Please pray for the Lord to provide resources and workers for this ministry.
