Madan and Sophie's Visit to the USA

Madan and Sophie came to the USA for three weeks in September. They were not able to get visas for their two, young boys, so they had to leave them back in Nepal with Sophie's parents. This was particularly hard since the baby was only two months old when they left Nepal. Many thanks to those of you who wrote letters to the US Embassy in Nepal. Madan said they were "famous" at the Embassy, even receiving a letter from US Senator Judd Gregg on their behalf!
Even though they missed the kids, they had a great time and were kept very busy with speaking engagements, dinners and sight seeing; visiting Boston, Virginia and Washington DC. They attended a "Nepal Reunion" and visited with many past team members as well as Duncan and Vasanti Watkinson, who were in NH visiting their daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. (see photo above)
They spoke in many schools, churches and home groups, updating people on the latest news from Nepal and sharing the wonderful stories of what the Lord is doing there. At Little Harbor School in Portsmouth (above), they met with a class who did a t-shirt drive last spring for kids in Nepal. Madan and Sophie brought another batch of letters from the students at Grace School and taught the kids a song in Nepali.
It was a time of fellowship, fun and a little bit of rest for our dear friends who work so hard every day to bless the former slave families in Nepal. (photo Madan in football gear)
